NAMOA Members, Vendors, and Supporters:
With COVID-19 (Coronavirus) leading the headlines daily, NAMOA is no different than many of our Federal, State, and Local partners and businesses who are continually assessing daily operations. The e-board is also looking into how our May 2020 conference may be affected by this global pandemic.
Last week your NAMOA executive board had an emergency tele-conference to discuss a variety of options. While this situation is still very fluid, and new information from the CDC and WHO evolves everyday; your e-board is working with the Bend and Redmond PD conference committee to find the safest, and best way to navigate this year’s very unique limitations.
Several agencies have sent inquiries, or have been in contact with members of the e-board to see if we have taken into consideration all of the very publicized concerns surrounding COVID-19. The short answer is: Absolutely, the e-board and conference committee are currently formulating new plans.
By the end of this week we will be pushing out the details to these plans for this year’s conference. We will have information regarding credits and refunds should some agencies need to pull their riders back; as well as event restrictions in order to provide a safe training environment for our members. At the present time the conference is still ON, and we are fighting very hard to keep it on the calendar this year.
While NAMOA has evolved into an ability for socializing and networking extensively with the community and our membership, we should all be reminded this association was created on one sole premise; to provide added training for our members in order to be some the most professional and competent police motorcycle riders in the nation. Should the conference implement some different requirements for this year’s conference, I just want everyone to remember we are trying to balance the totality of the situation so we are still able to provide a safe and healthy training experience.
Please hang tight and we will be communicating further details later this next week. Thanks for your patients and please do your part to stay healthy, and keep a level head during this time of distress within our communities.
Please check the NAMOA Facebook page or website for updates if you do not have access to your email.
Ride safe and Enjoy the day!
